We have been overwhelmed by the local aromas of insence, sounds of gongs, chanting monks, dusty roads and crowded streets. New York City on steroids, but so very Nepal. Wow.
Our visit for the first days is the Karhmandu Guest House which has proved to be an island of tranquility in the midst of the chaotic city.
Donna states it best as she suggests the following image of one way street with traffic coming both ways. Taxis, rickshaws, motorbikes, pedestrians, bicycles, chickens, dogs and an occasional cow, highly revered in this country. All in the midst of dust kicked up by the traffic.
It was good to get out for a change, back on a plane and head east for a view of Everest. Extraordinary and no climbing involved. A view of Everest Base Camp I at 17,000 ft and next the sunnit 29,028 ft, only five miles away. Double wow! Thanks, Yeti Airlines.
